Accuvant taps Coca Cola CISO Guttmann as VP

Enterprise information security firm Accuvant has tapped former Coca-Cola Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Renee Guttmann as a vice president in the company's Office of the CISO.

Guttmann, who became CISO at Fortune 50 Coca Cola in January 2011, the year after a former employee stole unencrypted laptops containing information on 74,000 current and former employees, will provide guidance to security leaders within the enterprise-level organizations that Accuvant serves, the company said in a press release.

The seasoned security professional has lent her expertise and guidance to other security pros, for example by contributing to the 20-page report called, “Transforming Information Security: Focusing on Strategic Technologies,” authored by Security for Business Innovation Council and released by RSA.

Before joining Coca Cola, Guttmann held positions at Time, Inc. and Time Warner, Capital One, Glaxo Wellcome and Gartner, Inc.

[A previous version of this story erroneously said Guttmann joined Coca-Cola three years before a former employee stole unencrypted laptops.]
