Credant Mobile Guardian Enterprise Edition v5.3.2 uses policy-based intelligent encryption to avoid the security, management, data recovery, maintenance and productivity issues associated with file/folder and full-disk encryption technologies. It offers central administration that runs from the console to the end user. The product delivers a wide array of device platform support manageable from a single console.

Mobile Guardian can perform centralised deployment and policy configuration, including updates to devices in the field. It uses a comprehensive management and reporting structure to maintain control of inventory and compliance and maximises security with automatic device detection and communication-port control. The solution also allows organisations to use various two-factor authentications such as biometrics, smart cards and RSA SecureID tokens.

Credant’s offering consists of several pieces that must be installed during deployment. Installation and deployment are quite intuitive, thanks to easy-to-follow wizards, and the various components simply plug into the existing environment. Once the product is installed, all management is done through a user-friendly web GUI.

Mobile Guardian integrates directly into an existing Microsoft infrastructure. By connecting directly with both Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange server with ActiveSync, this tool is easily plugged into an already functioning environment.

Mobile Guardian comes with all the documentation needed for a successful installation. The step-by-step approach will walk users from start to finish during the deployment.

The vendor currently offers standard-level support during office hours, and a gold level package that includes 24/7 support for critical issues. All customers with current support and maintenance contracts have access to technical support resources online. The company also offers email and phone support.

Starting at £42 per user, Credant Mobile Guardian offers a lot of functionality at a reasonable price with easy administration. We find this product to be excellent value for the money.
