Company news: MANDIANT, Clearwire make new hires, Actiance-LinkedIn partner

» MANDIANT, an incident response and forensic provider for government, defense and enterprise organizations, has appointed Richard Bejtlich (left) CSO and security services architect. He previously served as director of incident response at General Electric.

» Dissent, the pseudonym of a health care professional who blogs about data breaches and privacy issues, has joined the Open Security Foundation (OSF) as a curator for the DataLossDB project. The anonymous publisher of DataBreaches.net and PHIprivacy.will continue to maintain her own sites in addition to her work with OSF.

» Wireless provider Clearwire has restructured its executive leadership team. John Stanton, chairman and former CEO of Western Wireless and VoiceStream Wireless, has been named interim CEO and will continue to serve as chairman. Erik Prusch, formerly Clearwire's CFO, has been promoted to chief operating officer, and former Senior Vice President and Treasurer Hope Cochran has been promoted to CFO.

» Actiance, formerly FaceTime Communications, has partnered with LinkedIn to gain access to the social networking site's private application programming interface. The agreement will allow Actiance's customers to use LinkedIn while still remaining compliant with industry security regulations.

» Database security provider Application Security has promoted Josh Shaul (right) to CTO. He previously served as VP of product management. In his new role, Shaul will help implement the company's long-term technology strategy, as well as continue to oversee product management.

» Perimeter E-Security, a messaging services provider, has appointed Randal Skipper executive VP of global sales. The announcement follows the appointments of former Forrester Security analyst Andrew Jaquith to CTO, and former McAfee CTO John Viega to executive VP of products.

» Lieberman Software has integrated its privileged identity management solution, Enterprise Random Password Manager, with Q1 Labs' security information and event management solution, QRadar. The combined technologies will lower the chance of anonymous employee access to sensitive data.

» McAfee and software vendor Wind River have announced an agreement to develop security solutions for non-PC devices, particularly embedded and mobile devices. McAfee estimates that the number of connected devices will grow to 50 billion by 2020.
