Company news: Michael Ruffolo named CEO at Crossbeam, plus changes at Fidelis and Symantec
Crossbeam Systems, a network security provider, has named Michael Ruffolo (left) president and CEO. Prior, he served as chairman, CEO and president of Liquid Machines, an enterprise rights management firm. He also has served as COO of Akamai Technologies and as VP of global sales, services and marketing for EMC. Imprivata, provider of authentication and access management solutions, has appointed Barry Chaiken chief medical officer. He will be charged with advising the company's health care division on product direction and driving strategic partnerships. Board certified in preventive medicine and public health, Chaiken has more than 20 years experience in health care IT. Agiliance, provider of governance, risk and compliance solutions, has partnered with VeriSign iDefense to integrate its threat and vulnerability automation solution with VeriSign's vulnerability intelligence solution. The solution offers a combined platform so security teams can respond to flaws from detection to remediation.Fidelis Security Systems, maker of data leakage solutions, has appointed Gary Benedetti vice president of worldwide sales. He most recently served as VP of worldwide sales for Epok, a Microsoft SharePoint security provider; before that, he was VP of sales for e-Security, since acquired by Novell. 
ICF International, a technology consultancy, has appointed Patrick Miller (left) to technical director for NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards. Miller previously was manager of CIP audits for the Western Electric Coordinating Council.
Becrypt, provider of information assurance solutions, has teamed up with IronKey, maker of secure flash drives, to integrate solutions. The combined product creates a trusted computing environment that lets mobile workers securely access corporate data from computers.
The Cloud Security Alliance and MashSSL Alliance, an organization dedicated to promoting the use of the MashSSL open specification, have merged. The two groups decided to join forces because MashSSL, which lets web applications authenticate and establishes a secure channel, will help secure cloud environments.
