Company news: Yaron Dycian appointed VP at Trusteer, plus changes at Proofpoint and Solera

Trusteer, provider of secure browsing services, has appointed Yaron Dycian vice president of products. Dycian formerly served as head of products for identity protection and anti-fraud services at RSA. In his new role, he will be tasked with leading the development and implementation of product strategy.

Proofpoint, provider of email security and archiving solutions, has named Jeff Lake (left) VP of federal operations. Lake, who previously held a similar position at Fortinet, will be tasked with growing Proofpoint's government user base. In conjunction with the hire, the company has opened a new office in Herndon, Va.

Solera Networks, provider of network forensics products, has partnered with Sourcefire to integrate its offering with the intrusion prevention maker's event analysis capabilities. The integration allows Sourcefire's packet analysis capability to include full-session capture, which provides detailed forensics for security events.

HBGary has teamed up with Verdasys to incorporate its Digital DNA malware detection technology into Verdasys' Digital Guardian Enterprise Information Protection platform. The integrated offering will provide defense against advanced persistent threats.

Kingston Digital, a manufacturer of USB drives, has partnered with BlockMaster, which specializes in flash media security. The partnership will enable Kingston to provide centralized USB management software that lets organizations remotely manage controls, such as passwords and compliance auditing.

Networking giant Cisco has teamed up with open-source technology solutions provider Red Hat. Cisco is integrating its Virtual Network Link technology with Red Hat's enterprise virtualization solution to allow customers to achieve higher performance, greater network visibility and control and a reduced total cost of ownership for data center virtualization deployments.

Rick Van Luvender has been named chairman of the Payments Processor Information Sharing Council, a group dedicated to information sharing related to cybercrime in the payment industry. Luvender, director of enterprise security, risk and compliance at First Data Corp., will take over for Bob Carr, chairman and CEO of Heartland Payment Systems.
