DoD looks to build Fort Cyber Security in Boston

The U.S. Department of Defense expanding its century's old strategy of constructing forts at strategic choke points to help defend the nation, but this time around the enemy is cyber attackers and not marauding warships.

Admiral Michael Rogers, head of the U.S. Cyber Command, told the House Armed Services Emerging Threat and Capabilities Subcommittee that he would like to see a Cyber Command add a second outpost, a fort if you will, in Boston. The first cyber outpost is now operating in Silicon Valley. These offices are staffed by the military who work with local tech firms utilizing their expertise to help the country defend its cyber frontiers Rogers said according to Politico.

Rogers would like to take this a step further and have service members work in the private sector for periods of time and then bring that knowledge back to the military, he told USNI.org.
