Hacker who stole racy photos of celebrities pleads guilty

Following a plea deal that more than halved the prison time he faces, a 35-year-old Florida man admitted Monday to hacking into the email accounts of Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, and dozens of other celebrities to steal photos, emails and other documents. Christopher Chaney of Jacksonville was arrested in October following an 11-month investigation. According to reports, a U.S. District Court judge told Chaney, who was taken into custody on Monday after being free on bail, that he "cannot resist his impulses to commit these offenses" because he continued to hack even after authorities searched his home in February 2010. He faces 60 years in prison, down from 121 years, after agreeing to plea guilty to nine counts. He is scheduled to be sentenced in July.
