Hackers vandalize Angry Birds’ website

Hackers defaced the website of the popular mobile game Angry Birds on Tuesday in response to allegations that the National Security Agency used the app to gain users' information.

Gamers looking to access the website were confronted with an image depicting Angry Birds characters with the text “Spying Birds” and NSA's logo stamped on a bird's forehead.

The hackers appeared to alter the site through a DNS attack, where the site's name servers were swapped with others under the attackers' control, according to PC World. Not all users saw the defaced site because of delays in the domain's cache.

Rovio, the creator of Angry Birds, denied collaborating or sharing data with the U.S. government in a press release today.
