Heartland to work with industry

The head of Heartland Payment Systems has opened dialogue with industry leaders in hopes of adopting more effective solutions to combat sophisticated hacker attacks, the company said Friday. Founder and CEO Robert Carr is a proponent of end-to-end encryption controls. Heartland, which disclosed Tuesday that attackers breached its systems to steal potentially tens of millions of credit card numbers, is in the process of deploying the technology. -- DK
