Landry's investigates a potential POS attack
POS attack possible at some Landry's locations.
The Houston, Texas-based company, which owns 500 properties nationwide, said it is conducting an investigation in conjunction with an unnamed cyber security company to look into the incident. The company released only scant details, but said the chain may have been the victim of a point-of-sale attack.
The full scope of the attack or how many people have been impacted is not yet known.
Our investigation is ongoing, but based on reports to date it appears that this issue may involve the data contained in the magnetic stripe on the back of payment cards. Information in the magnetic stripe generally includes a cardholder's name, card number, expiration date, and internal verification code,"
Landry's said in a press release.
