Largest batch of Clinton’s emails made public

The U.S. State Department released approximately 7,800 pages of former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's emails on Monday including one email that was originally filled as classified.

The disclosure, the largest to date, is the result of a court order issued earlier this year. So far about two-thirds of Clinton's work related emails have already been made public and the rest are expected to be made available by the court's deadline of Jan. 29, 2016.

“Meeting this goal is a testament to our commitment to releasing to the public these emails as expeditiously as possible,” State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau told reporters at a Nov. 30 press briefing in Washington D.C.

In October, reports surfaced that Clinton's email servers were possibly probed by foreign based hacking teams after she stepped down as secretary of state in 2013 and that her servers were left undefended during an earlier period.
