McAfee to reimburse victims of faulty update

McAfee has announced that it will reimburse those affected by a flawed security update issued last week that caused computers to become stuck in an endless cycle of reboots. Those who have paid to repair PCs as a result of the problem are eligible to receive a reimbursement, McAfee said late Friday. The security giant said it plans to provide more information about the reimbursement offer within the next few days. In addition, a support number was provided for those who are still affected. — AM
