Merchant Financial Cybersecurity Partnership hosts security summit

The Merchant Financial Cybersecurity Partnership is hosting its “Cybersecurity: Protecting the Payments Systems” summit in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.

Multiple federal government workers will speak, including Michael Daniel, special assistant to the president and cybersecurity coordinator at The White House, Joe Demarest, assistant director at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the cyber division, and Mike Rogers, chairman on the U.S. House Select Committee on Intelligence, according to the event's RSVP page.

The event covers how financial service companies, merchants and policymakers can work together to solve cybersecurity, information and secure advanced payment issues in Washington. Speakers will specifically address the pathways to legislative and regulatory solutions.

The Merchant Financial Cybersecurity Partnership is comprised of 19 merchant and financial trade associations and is led by the Financial Services Roundtable and the Retail Industry Leaders Association.
