Email remains a primary vector through which malware is distributed. While many people are waking up to the dangers that arrive each day in their inboxes, half of email recipients are responding in some form to socially engineered mail messages, according to a survey by the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group. However, there are defenses available for all these vectors, though it takes vigilance on users' part to maintain a secure environment. To control the flow of information and protect proprietary data from getting into the wrong hands, there are a number of tools available.
