New round of venture capital for Tenable Network Security

After raising $250 million in a Series B funding round, Tenable Network Security has its welcome sign out looking to fill dozens of openings in a number of countries.

Ron Gula, the firm's CEO, announced this week that the proceeds, led by Insight Venture Partners and Accel, will be used to fund product development, international expansion and marketing. "We are investing across the board," Gula said.

“Security and vulnerability continues to be one of the largest concerns for companies across all sectors,” Richard Wells, a managing director at Insight Venture Partners, said in a statement.

Venture funding in companies in the cybersecurity market is expected to top last year's total of $2.5 billion, according to a Reuters analysis of statistics from CB Insights and Bain Capital Ventures.
