Obama to pitch IT security recruitment at SXSW

President Barack Obama is keynoting at South by Southwest (SXSW) today in Austin, Texas, where he is expected to pitch job recruitment in the IT security sector.

The president is scheduled to speak about civic engagement in the 21st century before an audience of mainly young people attending the music, film and interactive conference.

"The President will call on the audience to apply their ideas and talents to make technology work for us – especially when it comes to tackling big challenges like increasing participation in the political process and fighting climate change," the SXSW website stated.

The presentation follows Obama's announcement in January of  a “computer science for all” initiative that pushes for more diversity in tech with a $4 billion infusion of federal funds for computer science education.
