Poll: IT leaders forecast security staff salary increase in 2015

In an annual study, 54 percent of IT leaders said their budgets would accommodate increased salaries for security staff next year – one of the most difficult positions to fill at organizations.

Last week, TEKsystems, a IT staffing solutions, talent management and services provider, released its 2015 Annual IT Forecast report (PDF). More than 500 IT leaders, including CIOs, IT hiring managers and directors and IT vice presidents, were polled this October for the survey.

In the report, security staff, along with programmers and developers, were expected to receive higher pay in the coming year. Specifically, 54 percent of leaders projected the boon.

TEKsystems noted that security jobs were the fifth-most difficult IT positions to find “exceptional talent” for at organizations, behind project managers, architects, software engineers and programmers and developers.
