SafeNet picks up IT consulting firm

SafeNet, maker of network security and encryption products, has acquired Assured Decisions, provider of consulting services for the U.S. government. Terms of the deal, announced last Wednesday, were not disclosed. According to a statement, the acquisition allows SafeNet to expand its solution set within the government space by leveraging Assured Decision's expertise around information systems and security. Vector Capital, a private equity firm, purchased Belcamp, Md.-based SafeNet in April 2007 for $634 million. — DK
