You can take your domain expertise and translate this into “big dollars” by migrating to a sales engineer position.

What it takes

Sales engineers sit between the sales team and operations, becoming the “credibility card” on sales calls. They also communicate to the ops team what exactly was promised by sales. Only two things are needed: Domain expertise on client needs and the ability to communicate a positive, yet comforting message to the client to help close the deal.

Compensation

Compensation ranges from $90k to $120k base, plus bonuses (anywhere from an additional $10k to $100k).
