SC Magazine Australia holds awards gala

Six IT security vendors, most of them headquartered in the United States, took home top honors at Tuesday's SC Awards Australia gala, held in conjunction with the AusCERT conference. Among the winners were Sourcefire for "Vendor of the Year" and NetWitness for "Gatekeeper," which recognizes the solution that best controls who had access to information and provides logging, tracking and remediation in the event of a breach. Sydney, Australia-based VMinformer, which makes compliance, auditing and security products for virtualized environments, walked away with the "Innovation" award.
