SC Magazine Awards Europe 2007: A splendid night out in Chelsea

A glitzy new venue, a fresh focus and victorious women made this year's event a night to remember.

The SC Magazine Awards Europe 2007 ceremony was held in the stunning surroundings of the Hurlingham Club, in glamorous Chelsea. Truly an international occasion, SC welcomed leading information security professionals and vendors from around the globe.

The evening, hosted by TV and radio star Paul Ross, got off to a fine start with a speech from the editor of SC Magazine, Paul Fisher. Comedian Milton Jones kept the crowd amused before the all-important prize-giving got underway, with the award for best content security starting the proceedings.

The awards, in their 12th year, aim to reward the best products, people and services in the information security industry. Reflecting a fast-changing and maturing business, the number of award categories was reduced, and included a new award for innovation, which was won by Secerno. There were four award categories: reader trust, excellence, technology and professional, with winners chosen by a dedicated panel of ten judges. For the first time, both the CSO of the Year and Outstanding Achievement awards went to women.

All our winners were delighted to get their hands on the coveted SC Award trophies. Others saw it as a fantastic opportunity to mix with their peers, make new contacts and catch up with old friends and business partners.

The evening was a great success. Our thanks to everyone involved, including the sponsors, the judges and of course, all the winners.
