The increase of systems automation and monitoring within manufacturing companies has led to increased demand for certified automation systems professionals.  

What it takes

Implementation of programmable logic controller (PLC) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) devices are necessary for companies to be able to control and monitor expensive complex manufacturing
equipment. 

Compensation

Software control analysts can earn $50k to $55k, while software control application engineers can earn $60k to $80k.
