Skills in demand: SOC analysts

Professionals with experience in IT and information asset management, and who can get a handle on the totality of stored data are in demand.

What it takes

Having a clear picture of hardware, software and data asset inventory allows a security manager to make better strategic and tactical decisions. Certifications (such as CHAMP and CSAM) help, but hands-on experience with data classification, architecture, mapping and flow are most valuable.

Compensation

Analyst-level roles start in the $80K range with lead and director level roles in the $110K to $130K range.
