Growth, combined with new companies in the security vendor space, is resulting in high demand for sales engineers (SE). In partnership with account executives, SEs provide the technical expertise to align solutions with clients.

What it takes

SEs must have the credibility to earn trust and solve problems. The most successful SEs have interpersonal skills, know the scope of products' capabilities and understand how to position them in a way that's valuable to their customers.

Compensation

Experienced SEs can expect a base salary between $120k to $130K with an OTE [over target earnings] between $175k to $225K.
