While strong technical skills are always in demand, the need for those who can design, integrate and operationalize security controls is significant.  These roles include well-developed social skills, a clear understanding of business requirements, a consultative approach and the ability to manage complex projects.

Compensation

Salary is similar to traditional security engineering roles – $90k to $120k – but the qualities that companies look for are changing.
