In the wake of North Korea testing a nuclear device earlier this week, the South Korean military has raised its cybersecurity level as a precautionary measure.
The new posture has South Korea increasing the number of cyber defense agents on duty, according to a Reuters report, which cited the South Korean Yonhap News Agency.
North Korea has been accused in the past of nefarious cyber activities, including the Sony hack in 2014 and a cyberattack on the Seoul Metro subway system that South Korean intelligence services said had their northern neighbor breaking into and infecting 210 employee computers between March and August in 2014.
Cyber attacks between enemies is nothing new. The Ukraine has charge Russia with an attack using BlackEnergy malware that shut down a portion of its power grid earlier this year.
