In a survey of more than 1,000 Americans, 35 percent of respondents said that they have improved security following a hacking incident that resulted in nude and other personal photos of celebrities being posted online.
Conducted from Sept. 3 to Sept. 4 by Tresorit and YouGov, 20 percent of 1,178 respondents said they created stronger passwords, 10 percent said they have modified social media privacy settings, six percent said they enabled two-step verification, and six percent said they have used a more secure storage service, according to a post on the Tresorit website.
A more detailed infographic posted on 9to5mac.com contains additional statistics – 13 percent of respondents created different passwords for all online accounts, 11 percent have changed passwords at set intervals, five percent have used password management software, and three percent have used encrypted emails.
