Symantec buys Nukona, second mobile acquisition this month

Security giant Symantec on Tuesday acquired Nukona, a privately held provider of mobile application management solutions, for an undisclosed amount. The buy is meant to complement Symantec's purchase earlier this month of Odyssey Software, which makes mobile device management products. The acquisitions speak to the growing demand among employees for access to mobile devices at the workplace. According to Symantec, Odyssey allows organizations to manage device settings on mobile platforms, while Nukona, though an enterprise app store, lets them distribute and control applications, and protect the corporate data contained within them.
