Systems breached at Antioch University

About 70,000 current and former staff and students at Antioch University, which has six campuses across four states, had their personal information potentially exposed to intruders.

What type of personal information? Names, Social Security numbers, addresses of students. Also, payroll records of past and present employees and Social Security numbers of student applicants.

What happened?The data was accessed on two occasions last June and once in October. It was not disclosed how the intruders got in.

What was the response? The university notified the affected individuals in a letter and took the compromised server offline. The school is asking victims to get a copy of their credit report and monitor their accounts.

Details: Officials do not believe any of the data has been misused.
