Tripwire acquires nCircle to scale its risk management offerings

Security firm Tripwire on Monday announced it will acquire nCircle, a San Francisco, Calif.-based risk and vulnerability management company.

The move bolsters Tripwire's security management and compliance automation solutions, and aids in opening the company's client base to enterprises of all sizes. Close to 50 percent of Tripwire's current customer base is Fortune 500 enterprises.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the transaction s expected to close in April.

Tripwire is a part of private equity investment firm Thoma Bravo's security and compliance portfolio.
