Video: The risks surrounding digital certificates

Digital certificates have been created to establish trust. But, recently there have been a slew of advanced persistent threats where certificates are used to perpetrate attacks. According to Jeff Hudson, CEO of Venafi, almost all APTs use certificates that are either stolen or forged to create a false sense of trust within a particular end-point.

In this video, SC Magazine reporter, Danielle Walker, sits with Hudson to discuss the importance of digital certificates, as well as the threats surrounding forged ones should they be used in an attack against an organization.
