The White House has put together a team of private sector technology professionals, including former Google website manager Mikey Dickerson, to upgrade the country's technology infrastructure and better government websites.

The administration is hoping to avoid the same issues that plagued its healthcare.gov website last fall by training the expertise of the newly created “U.S. Digital Service” on improving access to websites under the federal umbrella.

Dickerson, who was on a team last year aimed at healing the many ailments of healthcare.gov, will be joined by up to nine other team members initially — a request for $20 million in appropriations for the next fiscal year is on the table.

The group may expand to include 25 members and will rotate in federal workers who know the laws and regulations that government must follow in regard to technology and information.
