CheckPoint Software Technologies bolstered its portfolio Monday with the acquisition of privately held Dynasec, a 7-year-old, Israel-based provider of governance, risk management and compliance solutions.
CheckPoint Software Technologies on Wednesday announced the acquisition of Waltham, Mass.-based security startup Liquid Machines. Israel-based CheckPoint made the acquisition to bolster its existing data security portfolio. Liquid Machines' technology is expected to be integrated into a future CheckPoint product suite, due out in 2011, that would enable the secure sharing of documents. The number of unique malware families found actively attacking business networks grew 61 percent from January 2016 to June, with 2,420 distinct threats detected last month, according to CheckPoint Software Technologies' June Threat Index.
CheckPoint this weekend disclosed two vulnerabilities specifically endemic to LG mobile devices, both of which if exploited could allow a hacker to remotely attack a device. LG has already issued fixes for both issues.
