The HacKid Conference offers interactive sessions for future hackers

February 18, 2014

All future hackers, aged five to 17, can register for The HacKid Conference – a family friendly event being held at the San Jose Tech Museum of Innovation on April 19 and April 20.

The schedule for the event is still tentative, but some of the predominately half-hour long sessions on the agenda include lessons on soldering, 3D printing, cryptography, combating cyberbullying, protecting yourself online and food hacking.

“Hacking is the word our community chooses to use to describe creative, fun and innovative ways of exploring problem solving,” according to a message on the website, which explains how the HacKid idea spawned when organizing members took their children to technology conferences that did not appeal to them.

HacKid is a non-profit that relies on donations and sponsors to organize events and purchase equipment.
