TotalCloud acquired by Qualys

Qualys announced its acquisition of TotalCloud, provider of a no-code cybersecurity workflow management platform, for undisclosed terms, according to Security Boulevard. The acquisition builds on Qualys’ recent partnership with Red Hat, which enabled the use of Qualys tools to scan Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS, deployment of Qualys Global AssetView to observe all OpenShift clusters and obtain a more detailed view of hardware configurations cloud provider metadata and installed packages in the public cloud using a commercial CyberSecurity Asset Management tool, Qualys’ Senior Vice President of Product Management Shailesh Athalye said. Amid all this, Qualys has been seeking a way to enable cybersecurity teams to use its portfolio of tools directly into cloud-native computing environments instead of relying on separate platforms, according to Athalye, and the new tools acquired through TotalCloud provided this solution. Through TotalCloud, Qualys users receive tools that invoke a security orchestration, automation and response platform while being simple enough for security teams without code-writing know-how to use. TotalCloud’s no-code tools thus allow security teams to work better with developers to secure IT environments, in line with an emerging trend of embracing DevSecOps best practices in application development and the growing collaboration between cybersecurity teams and developers.
