Tresorit enhances security with email end-to-end encryption

Tresorit, an end-to-end encrypted cloud services provider, has announced the latest improvement to its offering: end-to-end encrypted email, according to TechCrunch. The new service will be offered to enterprise users of third-party email service providers as an added subscription. Tresorit claims the plug-in employs the same zero-knowledge feature used in its file storage and sharing offerings, bringing an advanced level of encryption to users' email messages, which they send using their preferred email provider. The encryption is also enabled when Tresorit subscribers correspond with non-subcribers, as replies become encrypted in the sender's brower, according to a Tresorit spokeswoman. "If someone without a Tresorit account receives an email sent with our email encryption service, [they receive] an encrypted email template with a reference/link to the end-to-end encrypted content (this is similar to our file sharing service Send). By clicking on the link, the recipient can access the decrypted email content in the browser after certain security checks that prevent the email service provider to intercept the content," the representative said.
