Sean Tierney, a former Morgan Stanley cyberdefense expert, is the new vice president of threat intelligence for IID, a Tacoma, Wash.-based cybersecurity company.

In his new role, Tierney will lead IID's threat intelligence (TI) team, which collaborates with Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to identify emerging cybersecurity threats. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Tierney served in cybersecurity executive and leadership roles at UBS AG, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Intel.

“Sean has played a vital role in securing some of the world's largest financial institutions,” Lars Harvey, CEO of IID, said in a release. "He also brings a consistent record of collaboration and leadership within the threat intelligence community, especially with government and critical infrastructure industries.
