Aviation industry to be subjected to White House cyber briefing

The White House is set to meet with aviation industry executives next month as part of a series of cybersecurity briefings with critical infrastructure executives aimed at advancing stronger digital defenses across industries and helping the federal government develop cybersecurity rules for operators of critical infrastructure, according to CyberScoop. Initial cybersecurity briefings with other critical infrastructure sectors have been successful, said Deputy National Security Adviser for Cyber and Emerging Tech Anne Neuberger. "This way they are able to see the issues through the same lens as us. For the private sector, it's a cost; for the government, it's a commitment to not allow a foreign actor to disrupt critical services," Neuberger added. Meanwhile, Association of American Railroads spokesperson Ted Greener expressed the railroad industry's appreciation for the recently concluded cyber briefing for the sector. "In follow-up, we have arranged through the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the same briefing to be provided to railroads chief information security officers and cybersecurity leads," said Greener.
