Security, risk a popular duo in 2016

Steve Durbin, managing director of the Information Security Forum (ISF), told SCMagazine.com that 2016 is the year that organizations and individuals become aware of fact that when they're operating in cyber space, they're managing risk.

Durbin enumerated five key areas that he believes will grab the spotlight next year. He cited the volume of data that will be generated, the growing sophistication and maturity of cybercrime and the challenge of mobility - not just using numerous devices but accessing information from multiple locations as people continue to become more mobile. Regulation and legislation will prove to be significant hurdles and finally, Durbin says, "the last piece is around skills" and the industry gets and trains more workers skilled to do the jobs needed in cbyersecurity. The ISF published Durbin's predictions Tuesday morning.
