Phishing campaign lures victims with models’ photos

New phishing campaigns are capitalizing on two female models' looks to steal Facebook login information from users.

Symantec researchers noted the trend in a recent blog post and said that phishers were using images of Martisha and Denise Milani, nude models, to encourage victims to enter their Facebook credentials.

In one case, Martisha's photo accompanies an Arabic message that says, “Chat with Arab boys and girls on Facebook,” above a phony Facebook login portal. The page mimics the social network with its branding. Once users input their information, they're redirected to Facebook's legitimate login page. Meanwhile, their information is sent to the phishers.

An alternative campaign suggested that victims could access adult material if they submitted their login information. Similarly, users' logins were sent to phishers while they were redirected to Facebook's legitimate website.
