reports that significant changes have been introduced by Google for its Password Manager.
Google Password Manager has been updated to allow automated grouping of multiple passwords
for the same websites or apps on Android devices and the Chrome browser. Moreover, the new Password Checkup feature will issue warnings regarding weak, reused, or compromised credentials.
Individuals using Android devices will also be given the ability to create a Password Manager shortcut on their devices' home screen for increased convenience in accessing their credentials.
"Strong, unique passwords are key to helping keep your personal information secure online. Thats why Google Password Manager can help you create, remember, and autofill passwords on your computer or phone, on the web in Chrome, and in your favorite Android and iOS apps," said Google.
Google's announcement of Password Manager updates comes after a report from Verizon revealed that nearly 50% of data breaches stemmed from compromised credentials.
