Lauri Love faces extradition to U.S. for hacking

Lauri Love lost an appeal and faces extradition to the U.S. to face charges of computer hacking, according to The Guradian.

The 31-year-old British citizen could face 99 years in a U.S. jail for his alleged role in 2012 and 2013 of cyberattacks linked to the Anonymous hacktivist collective. While he was released with no charges filed in that case, he was re-arrested two years later on behalf of the U.S.

Love was granted bail and has 14 days to appeal the decision.

While the judge said she was aware that Love has physical and mental health issues, she was satisfied that his needs could be met by U.S. prison medical facilities.

Love's lawyer said she planned to appeal, initially at the high court, then in supreme court and, if necessary, at the European court of human rights, located in Strasbourg.

The U.K. courts can block extradition so accused persons could be tried in the U.K.
