Google warns Demonoid users over possible malware threat

Google has been issuing warning messages to individuals trying to access the file sharing website Demonoid.

The warning states that users could subject their computer to malicious software if they access the site, according to a report by The Guardian. If users opt to take the risk, they receive a second warning, as well as a diagnostic report explaining the reason behind the site block.

Seven out of 78 pages had malicious software that installed itself on users' computers without their consent, the report says.

Demonoid relaunched earlier this year and says its advertisers are to blame for the reported malware. The site is taking down its ads until it determines and removes the culprit.

Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have also issued warnings.
