Former DNI McConnell joins biometric firm’s board

Former U.S. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and National Security Agency (NSA) Vice Admiral Mike McConnell joined the board of directors of Plurilock Security Solutions, a Canadian biometric cybersecurity firm.

McConnell served as DNI from 2007 until 2009. Prior to his DNI nomination by President George Bush, he served as director of the National Security Agency (NSA) from 1992-1996.

He is a senior executive advisor at management and technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, and he serves on the board of directors of Securonix, a Los Angeles-based security firm. He joined the security analytics firm in February this year.

McConnell's appointment to Plurilock's board follows a long tradition of intelligence officials who have transitioned to the private sector. Earlier this month, former Director of the National Security Agency and former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Michael Hayden, said the private sector is “going to win or lose the game for us” regarding cyber war
