Juniper Networks names Kevin Walker security CTO

Juniper Networks today appointed Kevin Walker as security chief technology officer (CTO).

Walker will report to the executive vice president and general manager of Juniper Development and Innovation Jonathan Davidson. His responsibilities will include driving the company's internal security strategy and externally with investors, partners and customers. He also will be part of the team working on Juniper's security products.

Davidson, in giving the nod to Walker's expertise, said he "understands the complex issues that our customers face and will help Juniper continue to innovate, challenge the status quo and deliver security solutions that meet our customers' needs.” 

Walker, who has more than 25 years experience, comes from Walmart.com where he was vice president and assistant chief information officer (CIO). Previously, he worked at Cisco, Symantec and Veritas software serving in a variety of roles.
