Silent Circle names new CEO

F. William “Bill” Conner has been named CEO and member of the board of directors at mobile privacy firm Silent Circle, as well as a member of the board at Blackphone.

Conner comes to Silent Circle after serving as founder and CEO of FWC Consulting. He has more than 30 years experience in the security, telecom and infrastructure industries. Silent Circle has been on a growth trajectory, thanks in large part to the privacy-first Blackphone.

In a press release Silent Circle co-founder Mike Janke praised Conner's “pedigree,” particularly his work at AT&T, Nortel and Entrust.

Conner will lead the company “during this time of massive revenue, personnel and product growth, as we transition from a start-up to a global corporation with revenues in the hundreds-of-millions of dollars…,” he said.

Janke, who was previously CEO of the company, will now become chairman of the board.
