Capps brings nearly 20 years of experience in design, management and protection of complex e-commerce systems.
» Nick Percoco has joined Rapid7, a Boston-based vulnerability management and penetration testing company, as VP of strategic services. Percoco, who formerly created and led the global SpiderLabs organization at Trustwave, will lead a new team. Percoco will focus on enabling Rapid7's clients to make strategic security decisions.
» Medina Capital, a Miami-based equity investment firm that focuses on the IT infrastructure sector, has acquired Cryptzone, a Sweden-based provider of encryption solutions and identity and access management. Medina expects to take advantage of the growing market seeking secure access controls to protect critical data.
» Vorstack, a Los Altos, Calif.-based provider of enterprise security products, has secured $5.2 million in funding led by Glenn McGonnigle and Tom Noonan of TechOperators. In addition, EMC Ventures and Aligned Partners also participated in the financing round, which supports the company's real time analysis services.
» Vincent Gullotto has joined Codeproof Technologies, a cloud-based MDM provider based in Redmond, Wash., as president and COO. With 15 years of experience in the computer security industry, Gullotto will be responsible for driving business development efforts. Prior to joining Codeproof, he was the general manager for the Microsoft Malware Protection Center.
» Jonathan Hess has joined Denver-based One World Labs, a provider of cyber security services, as vice president of product development. Hess, who founded and served as the chief executive officer of software development firm Hess Interactive, will now focus on enhancing One World Labs' advanced threat intelligence platform.
» HackSurfer, a Glenelg, Md.-based cyber risk intelligence provider, has secured $3.5 million in equity financing led by Boulder Ventures and CNF Investments. The funding will help the company grow marketing and sales efforts and introduce its cloud-hosted security content and SaaS-delivered products to organizations. Launched in 2012, the firm also manages hacksurfer.com, where security professionals collaborate and share information about cyber threats.
