Breach Security, a web application security vendor, has acquired Thinking Stone, a service provider for the open-source ModSecurity web application firewall. ModSecurity is said to be the world's most widely deployed web application firewall, and now Breach will contribute to the open-source community by overseeing new releases of the product, in addition to blending the technology into its existing security solutions.
Insightix has expanded its channel network in the U.S., Europe and Asia. The developer of network access control (NAC) solutions has taken on several new distributors and resellers, including America's H&W Computer Systems and High Technique; Germany's Helmich Systems; Australia and New Zealand's Unixpac; and Japan's Apogee.
The Strategic Infrastructure Protection (SIP) Consortium, a group of technology vendors whose goal is to advance protection of the nation's critical infrastructure, has formed. Members of the Herndon, Va.-based organization are comprised of leaders in a variety of spaces, including access control, geospatial IT, wireless networking, real-time data intelligence and systems integration.
