A computer glitch affecting the Delta Air Lines website and other flight booking sites allowed travelers to make off with a deal of a lifetime.
According to a Thursday article in The Guardian, fares on the websites were displayed incorrectly to consumers from around 10 am to noon ET that day. A Delta spokeswoman told the outlet that the airline would honor the extra low fares purchased by flyers, as is now required by the Department of Transportation.
Due to the glitch, some travelers were able to purchase $400 flights for $48 or less.
An error that occurred during system maintenance may have led to the incident, which has happened before at other airlines and retailers, such as Walmart.
