The lower house of the Dutch parliament, the Tweede Kamer, was hit with a ransomware attack that managed to encrypt some files before being stopped.
As translated, “ICT system Lower House hit by ransomware. Very annoying but hopefully there will finally awareness,” Verhoeven tweeted.
The NLTimes added that Dutch TV station NOS obtained an internal Tweede Kamer email that stated the ransomware was in the system and encrypting files. The situation was rectified by using the system back up to replace the blocked files, the report stated.
